Mapping Sino-Foreign Networks and Mobility in Nineteenth-Century China

Mapping Sino-Foreign Networks and Mobility in Nineteenth Century China (MSFN) is a forthcoming open-access platform that visualises the global networks and mobility of communities living and trading along the China coast in the nineteenth century. Intended as a teaching aid for global history curricula, an accessible digital resource, and a research tool, MSFN is designed to efficiently depict and promote exploration of the diverse social and commercial networks that formed between the China coast and the wider world. The finished project will provide an intuitive digital tool to help students and non-specialist users understand global history and the ways innovative methods can shape approaches to the past.
