======= README =========== This dataset contains passive microwave snow depth and derived sea ice thickness from satellite altimetry in Baffin Bay. == sea ice thickness folder == The seperate files contain sea ice thickness from the following satellite altimeters: ICESat, Envisat, CryoSat-2 and ICESat-2. Two snow density products were applied to determine the sea ice thickness, the Warren 99 snow density (Warren et al., 1999) and the SnowModel-LG snow density (Liston et al., 2020), the result of these are in seperate files. The sea ice thickness was determined with three snow depth products (W99, PMW, and SnowModel-LG) and three redistribution methods (no redistribution, sigmoidal redistribution, and piecewise redistribution). The netcdf files include the gridded sea ice thickness(25x25 km for ICESat and Envisat, 12x12 km for CryoSat-2 and ICESat-2) and uncertainty estimates with all different combinations of snow density, snow depth, and snow redistribution. == PMW snowdepth folder == This folder contains daily passive microwave derived snow depths from DMSP SSMIS according to the methods iin Markus and Cavalieri (1998). The netcdf files contain gridded 25x25 km snow depth, GRV and sea ice concentration. == Further details on this dataset can be found in Glissenaar et al.
